Over time, the natural aging process causes the skin to lose elasticity which can result in unwanted side effects such as sagging, drooping, jowling, deep wrinkles and a loss of contour. Sciton's Contour TRL offers a laser treatment that peels away the outer layers of skin while stimulating collagen growth. This deep laser resurfacing works to remodel the skin from the inside out.

​​With the Sciton Contour TRL technology, we can both regenerate new skin and build collagen, even in hard to treat areas such as the eyes and lip area, providing significant results all without the need for surgery, incisions or anesthesia.

The Contour TRL provides both ablative removal of the top layer of dead skin as well as thermal sublative pulses to stimulate collagen. This dual approach regenerates younger, healthier looking skin while strengthening collagen bonds. All without scarring and lengthy post-procedure care, thanks to the coagulation achieved with this superior technology. 

The device is highly customizable with a number of adjustments that will be tailored to the condition of your skin, your desired outcome and your expectation for down time. 

Prior to your treatment, we may recommend pre-treatment care to ensure your skin is at its optimum for the procedure including staying hydrated, using moisturizer and sunscreen. The day of treatment, we'll cleanse your skin and protect your eyes with safety shields. We'll use a topical anesthetic and peripheral nerve blocks as well as medication if requested to keep you relaxed. We'll deliver your treatment using the Contour handpiece, gliding it across your skin with a computer guided scanner. The treatment itself only takes 25 to 30 minutes. Immediately afterwards, you'll experience redness and an intense sensation of heat. There may be some swelling. We'll recommend post-treatment options including vinegar water soaks, gentle cleansers and moisturizers appropriate for your skin type. 

Comfort levels vary from patient to patient and depend largely on the depth of the treatment. For shallower treatments, a topical anesthetic maybe all that is necessary. Most patients desire a deeper treatment and we offer a mild sedative and/or peripheral nerve blocks. We ensure our patients are in complete comfort at all times throughout the procedure.

Healing times vary by patient but typically the skin will take 7 to 10 days to repair. 

We'll schedule a follow-up visit the day after the procedure for an initial cleanse and to provide a LED treatment to expedite healing. Two more follow-up visits will be scheduled every 2 days for another cleanse and LED treatment. 

The 2-week post-treatment visit is where you'll see marked improvement and when we take our first set of "after" photos. Your outer layer of layer will be completely regenerated. Your next appointment will be at the 6-week point. We'll provide an additional photofacial and check your progress. Collagen building will continue for 4 to 6 months where you'll see improvements in skin firmness. We'll ask for photos again at the 3 and 6 month check-ups as these will show you how the collagen building is erasing laxity in your skin. ​​

You'll notice significant smoothing and textural improvements within 7 days. Visible collagen production will be noticeable at 3 to 6 months. Collagen building will continue for up to 12 months where the tightness and contours of your face will continue to improve.  ​​
